TRAINING

Training is the backbone of Cub Scouting and BSA provides considerable resources for both youth and adults. Many of the common training programs are listed below for convenience, but you can find more information on specific training opportunities by visiting the My.Scouting.org website.

PROTECT YOURSELF

As part of their annual Bobcat adventure, each Scout will be required to complete the activities in the booklet "How to Protect Your Children From Abuse: A Parent's Guide." Click the Bobcat for direct access.

SAFEGUARDING YOUTH TRAINING

Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) is required for all adults and volunteers who participate in Scouting. Click the SYT logo for the latest training information requirements or visit My.Scouting.org to take the training course.

ADULT LEADER TRAINING

Each position within the pack requires different training, but all of these course can be found in the My Training section of your profile on the My.Scouting.org website. Click the logo to check out the requirements for each role.

BALOO

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) training is required for any Cub Scout den or pack outdoor event, including pack camping overnighters and Webelos den overnighters. There are two components: Online basic training and Outdoor practical training. Click on Baloo the Bear for the council's current training calendar.
