It's Popcorn Season!
Our biggest fundraiser of the year — help keep dues low, fund pack activities, and earn rewards for your scout. Sales run August 30 – October.
Why We Sell Popcorn
Selling popcorn is Pack 289's major fundraiser. It helps keep our dues lower and pays for many of our pack activities. It's also great for scouts — selling popcorn builds confidence and manners through talking with customers, builds character and accountability through making real sales, and lets scouts earn credit toward dues, camp-ins, and summer camp.
Every unit sold benefits the program, the pack, and the scout!

First Things First: Download Trails End
All popcorn sales are done through the Trails End app. Download the app and register your scout before you start selling — this is what tracks every sale and every reward. The app also has short training videos that walk you through how to sell and how to use each feature.

3 Ways to Sell Popcorn
Storefront Sales
Sign up for a shift at a retail location like Market Street. Product is available right there and handed to the customer on the spot. Each shift has room for two scouts selling together.
Online Sales
Share your scout's personal link (generated in the Trails End app) by email or social media. The customer orders online and it ships directly to them. Online has the widest product selection of any channel.
Wagon Sales (Door-to-Door)
Go door to door through your neighborhood. You take the order now and deliver the popcorn once you pick up product from the Popcorn Kernel.
Reminder: Scouts should be in their Class A uniform when selling.
Working a Storefront Shift
- Sign up for your shift in the Trails End app.
- The 'Sell' button activates shortly before your shift starts.
- Make sure you're logged into the app as your scout so the sale counts toward their credit — credit for the day is split evenly between the scouts working that shift.
- Record all sales — cash and credit.
- First one on shift? You'll pick up product and the table.
- Last one on shift? You'll drop off remaining product and the table back to the Popcorn Kernel.
Selling Door-to-Door
Arrange to pick up product from the Popcorn Kernel ahead of time so you have inventory in hand while selling door-to-door in your neighborhood.
What Your Scout Earns
Trails End Rewards
Scouts earn points on every sale, redeemable for Amazon gift cards delivered right in the Trails End app:
- 1.25 points per $1 on credit/debit card sales
- 1 point per $1 on cash and online sales
Pack Dues Credit
Beyond Trails End rewards, the pack also earns a commission on sales. Half goes to the pack's general fund; the other half is credited to your individual scout's account to offset dues, camping fees, and other scouting costs.
Popcorn Party
Any scout who participates in the sale is invited to our end-of-campaign popcorn party in November. Details to come!
